Kapooka Early Childhood Centre is an incorporated body, managed by a voluntary management committee. These parents and community members work closely with our service Director, educators, ancillary staff, families, governing bodies and wider community to provide our wonderful preschool.

The management committee is responsible for the overall operation of the preschool service, ensuring our education and care service complies with the National Law and Regulations.

Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held in February each year.

The Management Committee consists of the:

  •  President
  •  Vice President
  •  Treasurer
  •  Secretary
  •  3 Ordinary Members (minimum)

The committee meets eight times per year on the 4th & 8th Monday of each Term. These meetings are held at the preschool or the Kapooka Community Centre at 1:00pm.

We encourage parents to join our committee and become an active member in the management of our education and care service.

It is an ideal opportunity to meet other parents, while contributing to the day-to-day operation of your child's preschool.

Participating on the committee is a satisfying experience and allows individuals to:

  • gain business management skills in a non-profit organisation;
  • share ideas and resources,
  • support the educators and staff,
  • assist to improve the service quality,
  • participate in fundraising, and
  • enjoy meeting with other parents on a regular basis.

The Preschool provides committee members with a Committee Information Booklet, which provides a detailed overview of each member’s roles and responsibilities and assists to familiarise parents with governance of our education and care service.

Being an active member of the committee can be a very rewarding experience for yourself, our preschool children and our community.

“The broadest, and maybe the most meaningful definition of volunteering: Doing more than you have to because you want to, in a cause you consider good”.
